So, I know that this is not a new accident, it happened the first week of School, but Scott has been wanting me to put it on our blog. I figure Halloween is a good time to post gross, gory pictures! Mitchel decided he was going to climb this gnarly, pine tree during recess. After he had climbed up the tree and the stupidity of the idea settled in, he decided he better get down before he got into any trouble. Well, he wasn't as careful getting down and the bark on this type of tree is worse than sandpaper. He basically, took all the layers of his skin off, down to the fatty tissue and muscle. There was not enough skin for stitches! We had to just pack it and cover it. He also, somehow was able to put an inch thick puncture wound in it.
Now, you may remember, that my most recent job, for about 3 years, was the Lead Elementary Secretary for Saratoga Shores Elementary. In fact, this is the first year in 8 years that I have not worked in my kid's school. So, instead of me being there for him, the secretary at Willow Canyon called me while I was working at Zonder, and of course I couldn't get it, so she called Nathan down and used his cell phone to call Scott. Apparently, Mitchel was the first flesh wound of the year! The office aide was very sweet to him, but, Scott said she was barely holding on. It was pretty hard to look at! Mitchel said that it didn't hurt until he saw it. It is better now, and he won't even have that bad of a scar. In fact, it is pretty cool looking! It looks like a shark tooth. I can't believe the human body and how it can heal so perfectly! I mean- he took all of the skin off, and even Doctor Tucker said that it was pretty bad! Mitchel made his mark in the new school right off! I am just grateful that it has healed so nicely, without much pain to him, and that he didn't get hurt any worse or any infection. I am glad that Scott was a very good nurse for him, I am still having a hard time looking at it!

By far the coolest blog picture I've seen in a while! I'm glad my boys aren't the only ones getting stitches and super glue :)
